The public parts of a listing are published only after editorial approval. Your email, phone number and uploaded documents are kept private and are seen only by our editors.
• Stories, photographs and tips. What you send us, your name, contact details and how you would like to be credited. Nothing is published without editorial review and your consent.
• Contact messages. Your name, email address and message, so that we can reply.
• Newsletter. Your email address and the date you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time.

To protect our forms from spam, we use short-lived checks that expire automatically and are not stored with your submission.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting server keeps basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

Embedded content

YouTube videos and Instagram Reels on this site load only when you press play. Until then, no content is requested from those services. Once loaded, they may collect information under their own privacy policies. Images in our Instagram section may be loaded from Instagram’s servers.

How we use information

We use the information you give us to review and publish submissions, reply to messages, send the newsletter you signed up for, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your personal information.

Who can see it

Only the Off Beat Bihar editorial team can see submissions and messages in our dashboard. Our hosting provider stores the website and its data, and an email delivery service may be used to send messages and newsletters on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions and messages for as long as we need them to review and respond, and published contributions for as long as they remain on the site. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent for a published contribution. Please write to us through our contact page.
